When a website does not have all the updated browser features then that can be opened up with Compatibility View Settings of internet explorer without any error. Such issues occur particularly with intranet or official links. In other words, when you attempt to open any of your office URLs (websites) particularly in Internet explorer and it opens up either with errors or broken links then you will need to add URL in this setting of IE.
How to fix broken links in Internet Explorer
- Open the affected website in Internet Explorer.
- Click on the settings on top right corner of the browser as show in the image below.
- Now click on Compatibility View Settings as shown above.
- Below window will open up.
- Click on Add as show in the image above then Close the window.
- Browser will restart on its own as soon as you will close the window.
- Website will open up without any errors.
