What to do to fix if bit locker keeps asking for the recovery key on every reboot in Windows operating systems
To remove bit locker in windows OS using Elevated Command Prompt, follow the below steps.
- Open command prompt as administrator.
- Run command “manage-bde -status” to check the protection status (see yellow highlighted below).
- Run command “manage-bde -protectors -enable C:”
- This will enable the Bit locker protection restart the PC and it will not ask for bit locker key again.
How to fix bit locker using GUI (graphic user interface) in Windows OS
- Boot the Windows OS for Bit Locker key prompt at startup.
- Enter the BitLocker key
- Once computer is up go to Start -> Configuration Panel -> System and Security -> Bit Locker Drive Encryption.
- Click on the link stating Suspend Protection next to the boot disk.
- A warning box will pop up. Click Yes to continue.
- Click on the link stating Resume Protection next to the boot disk.
- Restart computer and issue will be fixed.
