Since many medium to large sized companies are moving their Microsoft exchange and all the other Microsoft apps gradually to MS azure cloud, problems arise like device registration to azure AD (active directory) sometimes fail. As a result, Outlook and teams get disconnected from O365 while the device is still connected with internet and able to access web. This leaves you with one option that is connect your company provided vpn (virtual private network and access teams and outlook. But as soon as you disconnect vpn, outlook and teams get disconnected from O365 exchange. Now you have to perform Azure AD rejoin process with very simple process explained below.

  • Open CMD as administrator
  • Type in dsregcmd /leave as reflected Figure 1 below and execute command and leave the cmd window opened for later
  • Open windows task scheduler as administrator.
  • Explore Task scheduler Library
  • Explore Windows then search and select Workplace join as shown below.
  • Right click on all the three options one by one as shown in figure below then select Enable.
  • A soon as you enable them, right click over the white area as highlighted in the snippet below then click on Refresh.

  • Again go back to CMD then type in dsregcmd /join and execute the command as shown in snippet below.

Now restart computer then wait for some time to register device with azure domain. You should be able to connect outlook and teams without vpn.
